PS5: Video proves Sony s SSD
A week ago Sony has released the first big firmware update for the PS5. The highlights of the new version include support for M.2 SSDs that can be installed for the expansion of the storage space. In advance, Sony has set up some specifications that the new SSD has to reach to easily play the PS5 games. Among other things, a reading speed of 5500 MB / s and more is recommended. The Digital Foundry team now wanted to know how the PS5 works with a slightly cheaper SSD that does not match the specifications. The WD BLACK SN750 SE, which offers a read speed of 3500 MB / s, was used here. Normally, the SSD refers to further power via the RAM memory on the PC - but the PS5 does not support this function.
