Grief for Serbian trainer legend Ivkovic

Ivkovic celebrated great success as a coach of the Yugoslav national team. In 1990 he led the team to WM-Gold, 1989, 1991 and 1995 for the profit of the European Championship as well as to Olympic Silver 1988. Also on club level, the coach born in Belgrade was extremely successful, in Yugoslavia, Greece and Russia, he brought the national championship title. With Olympiakos Piraeus he won in 2012 the Euroleague, at the same time his last great success. In 2008, Ivkovic was appointed to one of the ten best coaches of Euroleague history, 2017 included in the Hall of Fame of the Fiba. The Euroleague is more than sad that a close friend and true giant of our sport has left us too soon, said Euroleague Managing Director Jordi Bertomeu. The basketball has lost one of his pioneers, but the heritage of coach Ivkovic continues.
