GTA-Publisher destroys hope for more and faster releases
Anyone who had hoped for possible rockstar sequels like Red Dead Redemption 3 or GTA 6 will soon be in front of the door, must now be strong. The boss of the Publisher Take-Two Interactive Strauss Zelnick has once again explained to investors that so big games need a lot of time. The development takes and the periods and cycles should not be shorter for the foreseeable future.
Rockstar Games-Publisher Take-Two makes no hope for faster releases
That's why it's time: Rockstar Games have long ago published regularly and much more games within a shorter time. But since 2013 have actually been "only" Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 on the market.
Of course, that has its reasons: The games are gigantically large and extremely elaborate to produce. In addition, they came to the market for a variety of platforms and have extensive online modes that are steadily expanded.
No shorter development cycles in sight: In the future, it should not change much when it comes to the big core brands. At least that believes that of the head of the parent Publisher Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick. According to him, the required periods for such large blockbuster games should not be shorter for such large blockbuster games.
"The development cycles for our immersive core publications are still significant. It takes some time to make that we hope that it's the best titles throughout the business."
"Development cycles are not shorter for these immense core releases. I would not expect that."
But in the end, this is certainly not necessarily in the interest of the inventor, as is further read by Venturebeat. After all, Take-Two and Rockstar Games also make much of their turnover: that people play their games extensively over a long period of time and spend money, especially in the online multiplayer.
But there is still a lot of news about GTA 6:
- GTA 6: Rockstar Music staff trolls fans with picture from Miami
- GTA 6 - rumor collection to release, setting and more
- GTA 6 Release still takes: Rockstar should bring until then
There is still many good news for Take-two fans: In the next few months, there are no new and huge mega blockbusters, but publications are still on. For example, a physical PS4 and Xbox version of Hades will appear in August, GTA 5: Expanded and Enhanced comes in November, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands at some point in the first quarter of 2022 and Ollioli World will also be launched by the end of March 2022.
Which take-two title is you looking forward to? How long are you ready to wait for big games?
