Destiny 2 CrossSplay Guide: How to play with friends on other platforms
CrossSplay is finally there for Destiny 2 and allows players to merge with their friends, regardless of which platform they play. Every Destiny 2 player on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Stadia will finally be able to play together and play strikes, raids, crucible and more. Some changes have been made at the Destiny 2 account system to facilitate the crosplay, but the device is relatively easy. Here you will find everything you need to know about CrossSplay in Destiny 2.
To add CrossSplay friends in Destiny 2
While you still have access to your Steam, Stadia, PSN or Xbox Live friends, all CrossSplay friends must be added to their bungie name. To add a player as a bungie friend, you only have to enter his bungie name on the Roster screen or on bungie.net. Follow these steps to add CrossSplay friends to Destiny 2:
- Open the director while you play Destiny 2
- Navigate to the Invitations tab of the List screen
- Enter the exact bungie name of your friend in the field Search for Bungie-Name
- Send a friend request to add to your friends list
You can have a maximum of 200 bungie friends at the same time, and you have the option of importing the friends list of your system and automatically add all bungie accounts when you start playing Destiny 2 after starting Season of the Lost.
How to invite CrossSplay friends in Destiny 2
Once you have added a cross-platform player as a bungie friend, you can invite him like any other player to your emergency. Just go to the Roster screen and you will see you in your friends list. Each player has a symbol next to his name, which indicates which platform he just plays.
Although they can be technically seen with their friends, there are still some crosplay features missing. The cross-platform language chat in the game will come according to Bungie soon after the start to Destiny 2, and the possibility to change your bungie name and to display text chat on the console will come at some point this winter.
Destiny 2 is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia.
