Civacy: World Association plans measures for more animal welfare and security

The World Association of Modern Fighters (UIPM) wants to respond to the Olympic Riding Drama around Annika Schlu with a measures catalog. This would like to "improve the well-being of the horses in the modern five-fight and create a safer riding discipline for all participants," said the UIPM on Thursday.

Among other things, a riding workgroup is compiled that the incidents in Tokyo are comprehensively reviewed and suggestions for future avoidance. The UIPM will design a series of modifications tailored to the format valid from 2022 with fewer jumps as well as lower and less demanding obstacles.

In addition, the training contents with training and case study materials should be enriched for animal welfare and better dealings with certain situations.

The proposals and recommendations should be discussed in an executive meeting on 24 and 25 November and adopted appropriate applications in the subsequent UIPM Congress. However, a deletion of discipline riding is not provided. The riding is "integral part of the modern pulp - based on the vision of Pierre de Coubertin", UIPM President Klaus Schormann is quoted in the message.
