Battlefield 2042: Release every two years makes sense according to CE
When Battlefield 2042 appears on 22 October, three years after the last title of the franchise will be passed. In the interview with VGC, EA-CEO Andrew Wilson informed about whether players can expect a new Battlefield title every two years.
He said that "would probably make sense" and possibly suggested that this could be the publication cycle of the series. However, he emphasized that EA look at the series as a live service model as a whole, although no constant updating of a particular game means. Ultimately, it is all about the annual offer, which will be reflected in future models.
"You should understand that this is the basis for how we introduce ourselves to the future of the live service around Battlefield, which will also include a mobile version over time, some free components will contain and the nature of what, what From start to start, will really change. "
"While a launch makes sense every two years, if we think about it today, we really focus on a 365-day employment with the franchise on platform level and on all devices on which consumers want to play."
Battlefield 2042 will be released on 22 October 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. An open beta is scheduled for September 6th.
